Hey, friends 🙂 Actually this is my new blog in wordpress, I recently moved from http://fayeyolody.blogspot.com/ because of sort of things.

Anyway, as you can see my pictures above, last weekend (Dec 1st-2nd) I ‘escaped from the city’ for hiking to Mt. Papandayan, located in Garut, West Java, Indonesia. It takes about 4-5 hours form Jakarta, or 2-3 hours from Bandung.

By staying over for 2 days here, my pride of Indonesia is getting huge and huge. By looking the exotic view from the top of the mountain, the expanse of fertile land farms and green grass, I thought ‘Oh my goodness, where else I could feel a very great ambiance and the incredible view like this?’

And yea, this is one of my favorite journeys so far this year. Besides captivated by its view and weather, friends of mine are amazing too. They are Edwin (ehm, he’s my beau, too), Benz, Ksanti, Leo, Liana, and Irwan. They make every second much more fun and precious. Liana and Ksanti, who are  6th month-pregnant women, acted like teenagers hahahaha. It seemed that big belly didn’t bother at all. Salute.

For getting Papandayan area, it costs only $0.2 or Rp2.000 per person. Amazing, isn’t it? And before we hiked at 11.30 am, we had been  eating instant noodle, fried rice, and peanut in a food stall on the foot of the mountain. Being in that cold temperature and togetherness, two plates of those foods taste really really good, hehe.

The journey continues. Tracking up and up, stepping the rock and rock, chasing the fog blown from the holes where sulfur takes place. We walked the 3-4 hour track, took the pictures from the peak, boiled hot water manually and drank hot ginger and coffee together at 2.142 Meter heights. We enjoyed our breath between the white fog when twilight coming, and we got in a little rush when rain started to drop. Of  course, with much more  laughter, too. 😀

After hiking, we gave ourselves a swim at about 9 pm in warm water pool in Sumber Alam hotel, a hotel located in Cipanas. Tiredness’s gone in a second. Haha. To end the day, we ate satay in a small-and-quite-dirty restaurant (because we had no idea which were  restaurants open in the midnight) :’))) *bitterlaugh*

Oya, we stayed over in Sari Papandayan hotel (you can see the picture above on the right side), which is built with wood and bamboo. It costs from $45 or Rp450.000 to $67.5 or Rp675.000/night. We rented a biggest bungalow to rest.

On the next day, we woke up in the morning and were wasting the whole morning (in Bahasa it’s called leyeh-leyeh), and we headed to Bandung at noon (it takes about 3 hrs from Garut). We were buying some baked banana (pisang molen), snacks, then going to Ciater Spa to soak in very hot water. It gave us more energy, relaxed the body, and brought some fun!

Then, we headed to have supper in Brebes Restaurant (where the roasted chicken and salty duck egg menus are very popular). And arrgghh.. Remember we have to get work and back into routines in the next day, we went back to our city Jakarta at about 12 am. I reached home at 2.30 am, and unexpectedly I felt so fresh in along the days. 🙂

“As a local tourist and nature enthusiast, I recommended Papandayan Mt. to be your destination once you get Indonesia. It’s worth it to visit, feel the Indonesia-ness here, but, please take care the environment by throwing your trash into the bin, not on the mountain. “

OK, I have to get back to work and write, and as a hint.. I’ll be going to Bali in a few days later! I’ll tell you so 🙂

kiss,

fy
